Parish Pastoral Council

Our new pastoral council was commissioned by Bishop Noel Treanor in June 2016. The council exists to try to ensure that, as a parish, we focus on our vocation as Christians, which is to continue the mission of Jesus Christ in our own time and place.

The pastoral council seeks to discern prayerfully what God is calling us to do in our parish community, through identifying the pastoral needs of the parish and recommending practical solutions.

Our first pastoral plan has four broad themes:
– to build a welcoming community,
– to increase the level of active participation in service of the parish community,
– to support faith development,
– to provide opportunities for worship.

The council’s role is one of service to the parish and also to act as a spark for others to become involved in the programme of pastoral activities in the parish.
